Pinwheels and Butterflies

We all like to visit a new quilt shop occasionally. Last week we went to Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders to visit Borderland Fabrics. Not only does it have a good selection of quilting fabrics, patterns and a warm welcome. It also has a small cafe especially for husbands with coffee, cakes and men's magazines.
I came back inspired to sew more and finished off the Linus quilt I was making from the left overs of the Wish upon a Star quilt. I have got the hang of free motion quilting with the fabimotion now and quilted this one in about 3 hours one evening - and only snapped the thread 3 times. Now I need to make contact with the local coordinator for Project Linus.

There are lots of butterflies in the garden this week but it is not easy to catch them on camera!!

The next project is a baby quilt done with pin wheel blocks. The pattern comes from the Rosalie Quinlan Gift book.

Ever a sucker for a new gadget - here is my new half square triangle maker - to ensure perfect marking and perfect cutting - and hopefully, perfect pin wheels.

Happy Quilting xx
